The Santa Justa elevator, Castelo de São Jorge, Rossio and Alfama are just a few points of interest near THE LIFT - Boutique Hotel that you can visit on foot. THE LIFT is located on Rua Áurea, in downtown of Lisbon, epicenter of city life and culture.

Night life

Lisbon is known for its bustling nightlife. Bars, taverns, nightclubs and Fado houses are scattered throughout the city, with Bairro Alto being the pinnacle of Lisbon nightlife. Other areas of growing interest are Cais do Sodré, Largo de Santos, Docks of Lisbon and Avenida 24 de Julho. There is an offer for all preferences, from traditional Fado houses to the eccentric cult nightclubs of the capital.

Tourist Attractions

It is often said that the best way to get to know a city is to walk its streets. The Ribeira das Naus Avenue is the riverside front between the Terreiro do Paço and Cais do Sodré - a great place to take a long walk and relax, with your eyes facing the other bank of the Tejo. The various belvederes of the capital, existing in high points or terraces of monuments, are reference for a breathtaking view of the hills of the city. Another way to get to know the Lisbon streets, and perhaps the most sought after, is through the route of tram 28, which passes through the most picturesque attractions of the city.

Surroundings

Only a 40-minute train ride from Rossio Station to the aristocratic city of Sintra. The magnificent palaces, bucolic and enchanted vegetation and the revitalizing hillsides of the mountains make this city a destination not to be missed. Many organized tours depart from Lisbon to the famous Pena Palace.

Also 40 minutes by train from Cais do Sodré you can visit the old fishing village of Cascais. Now known for its beaches and forts, this village and the outlying villages (Estoril, Guincho, Adraga) are excellent places to stroll, where you can enjoy the best fresh fish of the region.

Gastronomy

The Portuguese are proud of their gastronomy and Lisbon is the showcase of many local and national delicacies. In any restaurant or 'tasca' (modest dining house) it is easy to find a good fresh fish, grilled sardines and, of course, the famous cod. For those who can not resist a sweet, the world famous Pastéis de Belém are of obligatory consumption, as well as the delicious Ginginha, the typical liqueur of the capital. The locals are also avid consumers of coffee - this is served in small cups and is known as 'Bica'.
