THE LIFT welcomes guests in the historic center of Lisbon, in an old Lisbon-style Pombalina-style building that participated in the reconstruction of Lisbon after the 1755 earthquake. Ceilings of the top-floor accommodation of the building - the attic - the original timbers of the roof can still be seen, where one can look out on the Castle of São Jorge or the Elevador de Santa Justa from a typical Lisbon trawler, the postcards of the capital. The interiors have been decorated in a contemporary and elegant atmosphere, inspired by the neo-Gothic lines of the neighboring monument - Santa Justa Elevator.

  • “So happy The Lift has reopened!”

    No breakfast included. In-ceiling lights made the room warm. The building has recently been renovated and I was their first guest! I was treated royally and upgraded to a top floor room at no extra cost. The hotel is beautiful. The top room had original wooden beams and a view of Lisbon's castle. It is on a busy street but very quiet because of the renovation requirements. The room had a balcony which I enjoyed. Comfortable bed and beautiful bathroom. Because of the ceiling beams I would not recommend this room for tall people. The hotel does have an elevator that is worth taking a trip in. The hotel is centrally located in the Rossio neighborhood. Near markets, wonderful restaurants and Maria II theater as well as a popular iron tower for an amazing view of Lisbon!
